Bio

Jayson is an Emmy nominated producer based in Brooklyn. Trained as a cinematographer and video journalist, he developed his story telling craft following NYPD Hostage Negotiators, homicide detectives, funeral directors and exorcists. He’s currently producing for ABC News where he’s worked on a range of projects; from the dramatic life of Mike Tyson to a behind the scenes look at Steven Spielberg’s reimagined West Side Story.

Over the course of 20+ years of making television, he produced for several iconic non-scripted TV shows, including Showtime’s The Circus, TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé and VICE’s F*ck Thats Delicious.  Jayson was integral to the success of A & E’s Dog: The Bounty Hunter involved in all 8 seasons of the show and directed over 140 episodes. He created Criminal Defense, a documentary following public defenders in Brooklyn (NAT GEO TV) and has overseen projects from concept through series.  

His feature doc Gubernatorius tells the stories of five unlikely candidates bids to become governor during the California Recall election of 2003. His documentary short, Tribute, followed the design and installation of the “Tribute in Light” 9/11 memorial. He documented the debate surrounding the hallowed ground of the World Trade Center site’s for America Rebuilds: A Year at Ground Zero (PBS).

A passionate storyteller, Jayson’s capable managing projects from inception to air; helming production crews around the world, directing larger than life talent, and consistently getting even his most challenging subjects to reveal themselves.
